Hello and Happy New Year. I am 49-yrs. old and have Epilepsy. My condition began and grew starting at age 18. While the seizures were only every 1 or 2 months I produced and directed a documentary on Chicago's Bike messengers while I was also a messenger. It aired on regional PBS stations and was purchased by corporations for their employees out in the middle of the Atlantic to view.
My attacks are now monthly and up to 10 in a day forcing me to live on Disability just for the health insurance because post trauma has cost as much as $50,000. Last year one seizure fractured the right side of my skull destroying my sense of smell and creating Tinitus and partial loss of hearing in my right ear. A few years back, a series of attacks placed me into a coma for 3 days. When I awoke, I no longer had my job as the Director of Food and Beverage at a Hilton Hotel.
My epileptic partner and I are struggling to find the funds to produce a work about the 250,000,000 people with seizures in public and have little to live on monthly.
What is the possibility of a scholarship?
Sincerely,
Sam Inglese
