SENNA, released in June 2011, is the critically acclaimed documentary profiling Formula One racing legend Ayrton Senna. In an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, SENNA director Asif Kapadia said, "our aim was to bring the film specifically to the U.S. because ... it's one of the few countries in the world where people don't know who Senna is. We want the movie to work for people who have no interest in the sport and say, 'Why the hell should I care about a racing driver?' "
Winner of Sundance and LAFF audience awards in 2011, SENNA is now the highest-grossing British-produced documentary in cinema history.
