My family and I (myself, wife and girl of eight) are setting out on a backpacking trip through South East Asia down to Australia over a period seven months. After that we plan to live in Peru for a year (my wife being Peruvian) in quite a remote part of the Eastern Andes.
We have both put our teaching careers on hold to do this, not just for our sake, but also so that our daughter can get a good view at how the rest of the World live.
I travelled the World for two years, on my own some 13 years ago and, as a family, we have been to Peru on several occasions and to different parts of the World on shorter trips.
The reason I am writing to you, is because we love a TVE (Spanish TV) programme called “españoles en el extranjero” - Spanish abroad – which we find absolutely fascinating and addictive. It is a 1 hr long reality TV/ documentary composed of 10 minute slots where they follow either individuals or Spanish families who have moved abroad; they talk about their experience, their favourite places, the new friends they have made, their jobs, hobbies, food etc... They focus on a different country every week. There is also another slant to this which is foreigners living in Spain and how their lives have changed etc...
I think this could be done with Vagabond families and in a variety of different ways.
May be a new idea for you/ or perhaps not. In any case we would be interested in sharing our experience with you. We will have a Blog.
Please let us know.
Thank you for taking time to read our thoughts.
